Are United too short tonight?

For me, it hinges on the impact of downbeat moaning of the manager on the players.

It's so difficult to understand the impact of the off-field stuff.
I've been amazed at the press' negative reaction to Spurs not making any changes in the transfer window - can't teams also be improved by good coaching and experience of working together as a team.
The press....you should have been on the some of the Spurs forums the last few days...absolute scenes, you wouldn't believe, even by online standards!

I've felt for a while that Spurs were way too big in the winners, especially when they hit 22's a week or two ago, but I'm more biased than I'd like to admit. Still, given Chelski and Arsenal needing to adjust to new managers in a season with Thursday night footie and the Mourinho version of United liable to implode, I don't get the price. City are just too short for me at this point, coming in quite a bit in a few weeks. Hard to argue against City getting there in the end, but there's good value to be amongst the next five, if you can catch the ebbs and flows (and City don't run away with it from day one).

Specifically, the window leaves us short 2-3 players, which will now be filled squad-wise by players who haven't performed in recent seasons or youngsters coming through, which is always a risky proposition.

I feel the same
I think they are too short, by some way. But my other voice is saying:

Leicester won't capitalise on a weak United. Maguire and Vardy out.
Perhaps we could DOB Correct Score 0-0...
I really hope you didn't try that... Penalty was just rotten luck.

Wasn't overly impressed by United last night. They look suspect at the back - I think they will concede goals, and therefore struggle to mount a sustained title challenge

Thankfully I didn’t do it. It wouldn’t have been a disaster anyway: all of my trades/bets put only a tiny fraction of my bank at risk.

The analysis was broadly right. I trade 0 - 0 and 1 - 1 in pairs, so I was able to get out at no loss, because 1 - 1 was credible for so long.

Seeing a Leicester defending wafting his arm around 2 minutes into a season in the penalty area was a little sub-optimal...

To continue my no doubt disastrous run of opinions, I'm in no rush to support Spurs at evens either. It feels very similar to last night for me - although in home and away teams are reversed, and the Spurs manager comes with less gloom and misery!

Peter's mantra - underdogs score first more often than you think - could apply here.

Absolutely insane end to the DC United!!! Rooney rolling back the years and making a (double)play, I'd never, ever thought I'd see him make again. Check it out, whereever you watch your footie highlights. Well worth the watch I promise ;)

Barcelona concede a stoppage time equaliser but it's ruled out by the video ref after the markets had reopened.
