Thanks Dallas, all working fine now, I think it was purely the restrict refresh, % and times adjusted 👍

Hey Dallas,

Is there a way (i'm sure there is just cant seem to get it working) to build effectively a hybrid version of this DOB automation and a straight offset bet where the 'DOB'ing' is effectively using the profitable position that's been built from an offset trade and greened up all other selections for no loss.

i.e
1. Back Nominated selection 1 for £10 at SP
2. Insert Offset bet on Nominated selection 1 for £10 at SP minus <ticks/%%>
-> 2a. This should in theory build you a green on that selection but £0 loss on all others
3. When this is matched, then you want your 'close trade with greening' rules within the DOB automation to kick in.

What this then does is effectively only start looking to hedge up by tracking the price in-play. When you have built yourself a free bet on the selection then if the selections price continues to shorten, you maximise your profits. I can find with the DOB automation that it sometimes misses the green up due to the volatility of the end of a horse race, this wouldn't matter so much if it doesn't hedge up because your 'loss' is £0.

Yes, you could do that and in a number of ways depending exactly when you wanted your green up rule to trigger

ie, you could just add a 'number of unmatched bets condition' on selection is equal to 0
Or 'matched bets amounts condition to test the back bets matched are equal to the lay bets matched
The rule would only trigger then once the trade had been closed and you have a free bet secured

Hi Dallas

I've been using this automation for a number of weeks now and it's just what I had been looking for. Yesterday, however, it placed a back bet on the eventual winer and through the greening process, ended up with a red, more than 3 times the back stake. The only changes i've made are adjusting the % and adding the green up = or > 0 condition, previously advised in this thread. I'll post the log below.

Many thanks

It looks like the 2nd green up bet may have been or started to be matched as the 3rd green up rule triggered - and then was also matched

Things like this are quite rare but can and will happen from time to time, had the green up rule had any more triggers left it would of fired again and if matched levelled off the profit

You could increase the number of triggers but you might still run into this (just less often), ie say you used 5 triggers the first 3 attempts may not be matched, the 4th then gets matched just as the 5th triggers leaving you in the same situation

Much appreciated. I'll try increasing to 5. Then just accept it as a rare business expense.

Hi Guys,
Being new at this whole Bet Angel scenario, I have been running the DOB With Moving Exit.baf in Practice Mode now for 3 days.
Running on Markets in the UK and Aus.
After 3 days I am down a total of $307.75 using a $10 Stake - thankfully its only in Practice Mode.
I read with some interest how this is working well, for people in the Forum.
I read how these examples are not posted until they have been determined to run without any issues.
I'm just curious to find out why my results are so bad.

Sorry Guys,
I should have mentioned that the problem seems to be that about 90%, if not more, do not Green Up.
I have reduced the number of Ticks from 10 to 5, but it makes no difference.

Results from any type of DOBing strategy is going to be down to each individual and there selection choice, randomly picking a runner each race or every fav, 2nd fav etc to apply the rule to isn't going to produce a profit in the long term

Have you checked the log to see if your green up bet was placed but just not matched?

Hi Dallas,
Thanks for getting back to me.
Yes I am just selecting the Favourite in all Races, and applying the Rule several hours before the Race.
From what you say, that is NOT going to be profitable anyway.
Given the above, does that apply to all the Examples, cos if it does I think might just be wasting my time.

All the example rules are intended only as a frame work to get new users to automation started and give them some idea's and something to build on
Or if they are struggling to automate something and want to see what's needed to do a specfic task.

If I were to upload a 'profitable' rule it would lose any chance of being profitable after 2nd or 3rd person started using it (let alone the 1000s who download each file) as there just isn't enough money in the markets to match every ones bet if they all triggered it at exactly the same time on the same selection at the same price.

Everyone who has a profitable automation file has done so by trial and error and plenty of testing and then they will then never divulge there settings to anyone as they'll want to make as much as possible without sharing any of it with a stranger.
You'll also be very very lucky if you stumble across a strategy/automation that can just be applied to every market and make a consistent profit.
99.99% of profitable strategies need to be applied to the right markets at the right time and that is something you'll discover during the testing and trial and error stage.

Hey, been running this with good success, but today I had a strange trade. I wasn't watching it live, but the bot seems to have placed a lay bet at 3x the back bet price. My assumption would be that the horse went into the Dobbing position for a second, then shot right back up, causing the bot to lay at this very high price. Does that seem correct?

I'd need to see the Bet Angel log for the market to be able to advise what might have happened
