The other day I had a conversation with the neighbour on a subject and later I started to see adverts on Youtube about the subject.
Do you think Google is listening to our conversations through our phones? It wouldn't surprise me if they do.

Dear God Derek, employing humans is the equivalent to accepting your information from a chat room rather than Guardian, humans aren't reliable or efficient, let alone fast enough to compete.... your question should be, how many people would it take to compete with Guardian.

Over the past 4 weeks I have been getting lots of google notifications that there adding this and that based on my search requests.

It's just GDPR compliance around the new 1st party cookies rather than 3rd party that's due soon. Plus you may have had some about the old G-Suite products moving to Workspace if you use them. I'm plagues by similar as I work with Google Ads and their mailbox / cloud storage products.
