I invested in one of these 5120x1440 monitors and I wouldn't go back to dual set-up. https://www.samsung.com/uk/monitors/gam ... 95tssrxxu/
Saw the post earlier and did some research for myself on multiple monitors versus a single monitor and PIP / PBP.
This was best looking stand I came across in my travels https://www.vonhaus.com/vh_en/home-offi ... tor-mounts

Do you think it is better to have two singles or one dual stand?
Personal preference really and also depends on your eyesight and the arrangement that suits you best.
The stand base is large but you can have the whole setup nearer to you rather than having the clamped version which has to sit at the back of the desk. Supposedly they don't tip and there is less clutter underneath with the single stand.
I have 3 x 17" monitors side-by-side still on original stands and in a slightly curved arrangement - old fashioned 5:4 ratio but suits me well for lots of document editing. Do wish for slightly more height but the modern monitors in portrait mode would be too high (and therefore head movement) and also not as wide so less of the document lines would be visible with necessary tools on left.
Triggered to look by your original post, I got as far as putting the £60 3 monitor stand in the basket at Amazon yesterday but then gave up since I wasn't sure of the immediate benefits to what I have
Might look at 3 x 19" and turn one to portrait eventually.

Ive got all single. Two 27” side by wide with a larger 32” above both with a laptop in the middleMemphisFlash wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 9:44 pmfoxwood wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 8:48 pmSaw the post earlier and did some research for myself on multiple monitors versus a single monitor and PIP / PBP.

At the bottom. If i wanted to have the 32” in the middle and then move the 27” each side I could achieve that with singles.
Depends whether you want greater flexibility or a cleaner lookMemphisFlash wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 9:44 pmDo you think it is better to have two singles or one dual stand?
I'm currently using fully adjustable (tilt/rotate/pull-out) quad and twin (top/bottom twin rather than side/side) monitor mounts with desk clamps rather than stands - they're more expensive than some shown on here but better quality and completely stable.MemphisFlash wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 9:44 pmDo you think it is better to have two singles or one dual stand?foxwood wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 8:48 pmSaw the post earlier and did some research for myself on multiple monitors versus a single monitor and PIP / PBP.

The type I use are highly versatile and totally interchangeable - I've a whole load of spare parts (short/long extension arms, 40cm/70cm/100cm poles, VESA 50/75/100 clamps, nuts, spacers etc) for the ones I've got, so I can make just about any combination (single, twin, triple, quad) several times over.
However, your set-up though is very personal and what suits one trader won't suit another. My monitors are all currently in landscape mode, but there's a good argument for having at least one in portrait mode.
A side by side set-up with a desk clamp is tidy and frees up desk space, but the choice is yours.
Good luck with whatever you choose
