McIlroy goes of, almost, favourite again. Sheffler is the actually favourite, just.

Poor weather is due to arrive, so it's anybody's this weekend.

Been finding it slow getting some bets matched. Are volumes really down? I see that there's been £6.5m matched. I would have expected double that. Does anyone on here keep records of such things?

Volumes do seem lower than the US Majors this year.

Thankfully enough to get my usual largish lay on Rory at 7s, soon matched just minutes later at 10.5, then out to 13s when he missed a 4 foot putt, though! There was no scenario that would have seen the price fail to hit 10.5 that I could imagine, unless he won every round from the first ball, which is just not his game with the quality of this field and the pressure of it being a Major.

Rory was absurdly short pre off. Had a chunk off him at 7s L2B.

I expect Scottie and Rahm to Top 5. Wyndham one to watch too, IMO. Nice to see Fleetwood start well.

It's actually slightly up on last year and in line with the average for the last ten years.

Think Harman has done enough here at 2.8 with 5 shots to play with. Sunday afternoon could be a good finish if he gives up a few shots today. However as things stand if he carries on putting like that he looks value. imo

Rahm had the round of his life!

Scottie can't buy a putt, despite his run of top 5s lately.

Rory has had his usual Major (mis)adventures - still can't believe how much liquidity there was to lay him at 7s with 71 holes to play !! Bonkers.

Fleetwood just treading water, despite the local fans all cheering for him. Needs a haircut I think : - )

I concur with the comment re Harmon - if he doesn't get the 'yips', he should be clear. he's been faultless tee to green. If he falters, at all, Day, Young, Hovland and Rahm are poised to strike.

The momentum is with Rahm and he has nerves of steel, so I'll be dutching him and Young and possibly a lay-to-back on Harmon as he seems too short at 1.66 for someone who's never won a Major, even with 5 shots clear. I believe if Rahm gets a good start, he'll trade below 6s.

The only time somebody had a five shot lead and did not go onto win was Jean Van De Velde in that memorable last round at Carnoustie in 1999.
