Interesting article on Citibet: -

While it is unclear who owns Citibet, experts have previously claimed the online operator boasts an annual turnover of US$50 billion, with a significant chunk of that in southern China.

It used to be pretty hard to get an account.

It was handled by agents, who took a commission from your
Profit.

The user interface is unbelievably complex / I have a video somewhere / maybe photos, which I will try add later.

They recently stopped in/running betting on horses / so
it’s become less useful.

Agents like PremiumTradings https://x.com/premiumtradings/status/17 ... lVPKQNnmMw offer services etc.

I never used and cannot verify Premium Tradings bone fides.

Here are 2 pics of the Citibet interface (10 yrs old).

I last used about 5 yrs ago - hadnt changed much.

The interface was so complex for me, I had a guy write a simple overlay where I could enter stake/horse number and enter.

Hadn't spotted that, but it's still useful I think. Shines a light on the company and mega rain's posts are interesting too.

I used them for years. I had 5 figure cash settlements every week. It was... challenging... but reliable, and then one day some of the agents realized that there were no repercussions if they didnt pay!

About 5 years ago it became illegal to be a citibet agent in Australia so all business became anonymous / cash-based. And then covid hit and all the asian agents realized / decided that they could just refuse to pay

Based on my early experiences with loosely regulated markets, I've tended to duck these companies for that reason.

That's not unreasonable. I pulled a few hundred thousand out of it, and then didnt get paid about $5k, so it wasnt a bad trade. It's never fun though.

Thanks for the info.

Any idea why they stopped horses in-running?

They were getting beaten up by fast feeds.

When I was playing, I was allowed to bet into Hong Kong tote pools until 12 secs from the approx end of the race.
You had to beat it.

It's hard to close races globally on time - there are still huge opportunities in this regard.

I had the most trouble with an agency called Royal Draft, Stay away from them. Another called 90Agency was a problem too.
