114,135 1.01's in running (win market only), 1,479 losers ,51 dead heat 1.01's The bare stats show, even if you were quick enough to get in there first and fully matched, you'd lose. Track players make money by their time advantage and can pick up better prices on the way up or down due to crossmatching etc. The people laying blind at price points just cos the stats show a small profit are rarely the first into the market and will genererally fall flat.wilf wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2017 6:03 pm
I think that you would be better off using the £1000 backing at 1.01. I'm sure I looked at the stats of that ages ago just to see how many hit 1.01 and lost. Out of about one million races there wasn't many. How many are there in your database for that? I agree with you though in that we don't know the full picture of what they're doing and it might be profitable, but It's not a strategy that I would use.

Haven't read the whole conversation so might be a stupid question. But do your stats include 1.01's pre off?wilf wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2017 3:08 pmThanks for the stats.spreadbetting wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2017 1:59 pm114,135 1.01's in running (win market only), 1,479 losers ,51 dead heat 1.01's The bare stats show, even if you were quick enough to get in there first and fully matched, you'd lose. If you want to back or lay 1.01's then you need to be standing near the finishing line at certain tracks along with all the others.
Just don't get caught, as the practice, although not illegal, is frowned upon by certain race stewards and you will get asked to leave the course.

That's a polite way of putting it. Asked implies you can say "no thank you, I'm fine here".

Once saw someone have their tablet seized and then physically ejected. I have no clue if the tablet was returned.

Not personally. I had a friend who did and he also used to travel around the globe to tennis matches and bet at courtside. Haven't seen or spoken to him since late 2015.to75ne wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2017 3:38 pmi go to kempton a lot during the winter (jumps)used to see that alot, not so much now, out of curiosity have you had ago at it?BetScalper wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2017 3:34 pmIf you want to back or lay 1.01's then you need to be standing near the finishing line at certain tracks along with all the others.
