It was, but it was obviously only going to run in one race. Trainers are allowed to make multiple entries but they often declare a preference.

Best day for quite a while.

Does anyone else share my belief that it's easier to make money trading on a Saturday. I don't just mean because of more liquidity or bigger races, but the markets are more predictable / less volatile ?

Saturdays have always been the best day of the week for me from as far back as I can remember.

And a fill rate is at least 3 times better than other days... you can match your entry and exit in miliseconds... totally oposite than other days when prices are tanked with unmatched money

Do you find that scalping automation tends to work better on saturdays too?

I've never used automation other than for experiment and research purposes, but I start scalping manually whenever I see a stable market with good fill-rates, and I only see these opportunities on big race days or on a Saturday. So I would expect scalping bots to be better suited to Saturdays, but I've never tried it myself.

I've always liked Mondays and Tuesdays. I don't scalp so enjoy the volatility. Then again I don't know the Saturday markets very well because I try to just work mon-fri and then enjoy the sport on a Saturdays, something that's often spoilt if you're staring at ladders and thinking about money all day. Personally I can't enjoy the sport and trade at the same time, both suffer.

I gave up enjoying sport for making money out of it - it's much better. :D

You need to be fairly cold to be an effective trader and getting emotionally involved with the sport doesn't really support that. So I'll schedule my enjoyment so I'm not tempted to trade it.

I'm not going to bother, will run a bit of automated stuff but time better spent elsewhere.

hehe That's bang on the money today Anna. You can rewind to the beginning actually ...

Talking to myself and feeling old
Sometimes I'd like to quit
Nothing ever seems to fit
Hanging around
Nothing to do but frown

FA cup draw seems to be the only highlight today.
