No longer useful for you I know, but for others who might find this useful, If you use bank transfer rather than debit card as a withdrawal option then it appears on your bank statement as "Worldpay AP Limited". I withdraw exactly the same amount on 28th of every month so it looks like a salary.megarain wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2024 12:03 amThats solid advice.
Recent withdrawals from Betfair into a bank account, give no misdirection where its come from - (Betfair Uk)
I don't want that on any bank statement, so, the few deposits I made had to be a 3rd party like Paypal/Wise/Revolut.
I don't think it is wrong, indeed it's 100% right (unless you want your bank account closed)

What has that got to do with anything, Paddy Power has used Worldpay since 2016.jamesedwards wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2024 12:32 amNo longer useful for you I know, but for others who might find this useful, If you use bank transfer rather than debit card as a withdrawal option then it appears on your bank statement as "Worldpay AP Limited". megerain, has already stated that his problems are from deposits and requests from Betfair, for statements from Revolute.
I would rather be explaining and proving proof of payments into my bank account, than have my Betfair account closed like megarain.

The personal situation aside, a quick google says Betfair employ 1800 people world wide.
I would suspect that's a lot to manage, and when things go wrong in companies, things go wrong for a while. Things get bad before they get better I would imagine. The company I work for has about 50 people in it. Pfft, we can't communicate with each other effectively, and stuff falls through the cracks all the time.
It's frustrating for the end-user.
For example, trying to get angry at you're domestic telco (who are...always usless, I think that's well known), doesn't really do anything other than increase your blood pressure sorta thing. The thing is, people keep coming back to the telco's so they have no incentive to do better.
Probably parallels with Betfair there.

Do you really think the banking industry in United Kingdom, and Offshore are stupid !!!jamesedwards wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2024 12:32 amNo longer useful for you I know, but for others who might find this useful, If you use bank transfer rather than debit card as a withdrawal option then it appears on your bank statement as "Worldpay AP Limited". Useful for those who would prefer "Worldpay AP Ltd" showing on their bank statement rather than "Betfair UK".conduirez wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2024 1:08 amWhat has that got to do with anything, Paddy Power has used Worldpay since 2016.jamesedwards wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2024 12:32 amNo longer useful for you I know, but for others who might find this useful, If you use bank transfer rather than debit card as a withdrawal option then it appears on your bank statement as "Worldpay AP Limited". Mine shows ‘Visa Direct Payment’ then when I click on it the description says ‘Visa Direct Payment BF Online’, I’ve had no problems with Barclays thus farjamesedwards wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2024 11:45 amUseful for those who would prefer "Worldpay AP Ltd" showing on their bank statement rather than "Betfair UK".conduirez wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2024 1:08 amWhat has that got to do with anything, Paddy Power has used Worldpay since 2016.jamesedwards wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2024 12:32 am

FYI - Like Silk Run alluded too, WorldPay AP LTD transaction on your bank statement is associated with onshore/offshore gambling. So, if your trying to get a loan, mortgage or even rent somewhere then they going to assume your a gambler which may or may not affect any decisions they make etc.
.Here once and for all Worldpay is a legitimate business used by Banks as well as companies, The Royal Bank of Scotland uses Worldpay as their card payment service provider. It was at one time owned by NatWest and then RBS I believe before the bail out.jamesedwards wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2024 11:45 amUseful for those who would prefer "Worldpay AP Ltd" showing on their bank statement rather than "Betfair UK".conduirez wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2024 1:08 amWhat has that got to do with anything, Paddy Power has used Worldpay since 2016.jamesedwards wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2024 12:32 am

I see. I'd still rather have "WorldPay AP Ltd" than "Betfair" all over my statements though. I only use mine for things like betting accounts, phone contracts, trade accounts etc. Nobody's ever challenged it, but perhaps they just didn't care.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2024 1:27 pmFYI - Like Silk Run alluded too, WorldPay AP LTD transaction on your bank statement is associated with onshore/offshore gambling. Yeah, agreed. I had to sign up for open banking as a requirement for my Canadian visa and relocation. During the interview they asked how much I spent on gambling. I tried to bluff it, don’t know what you’re talking about. Then they said, what are these WorldPay AP LTD deposits ?jamesedwards wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2024 2:04 pmI see. When I got back home, checked my bank statements and no reference to BF, BetFair, PP, PadyPower or any other onshore/offshore gambling sites.
I didn’t ask during the interview but I was like how g the be hell did they know etc.

Interesting. Presumably they can still see the Merchant Category Code for deposits as well as expenditure.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2024 2:19 pmYeah, agreed. When I was in the UK, pub used WP, which appeared on my statement but the ‘AP’ reference was missing on the transaction entry.

A similar situation happened to a very good friend of my inner circle !!!
He was online gambling to what I can only describe as excessive. Unfortunately the country he was operating in prohibits gambling.
And unfortunately for him he was doing all his 'casino banking' in a very well known bank in-country. Which he never knew was state owned !!!
Anyway, his retirement visa was revoked as the conditions of the vignette clearly stated not allowed to work.
And before the police authority could interview him he fled across the border to a neighbouring country ....

Furthermore. Banking in any country appears to turn a blind eye to gambling. That's the impression I get. But they clearly know it is embedded in their every day banking.
I think if governments become more involved that's when things could change ...

I'm pretty confused by all this now
