The Premium charge has been completely scrapped and replaced with an Expert Fee. Betfair’s revamped pricing structure is built to create a more balanced approach to fees while reducing costs for most of those impacted. Here’s the lowdown:

Lifetime limits SCRAPPED, there is no lifetime to cap your earnings at standard commision rate.
Over half of existing Premium Charge payers will no longer qualify for ANY additional charges. For those who do, 80% will pay reduced fees.
No fees for profits under £25,000 per year. Only customers surpassing this threshold will pay any extra fees.
Any additional rates are calculated not on lifetime profits, but on 52 week rolling totals.
Lower maximum rates. The previous 50%-60% charges are history—fees now cap at 40%, and only for those earning substantial annual profits.
Transparent tracking. A revamped dashboard ensures clear visibility into activity and thresholds.

Fairness Above All: A performance-based system means fees can adjust dynamically—and even drop back to 0% after performance variance.

How Does It Work?

Generalising, the Expert Fee will apply to customers who meet the following criteria:

Annual profits over £25,000.
A positive lifetime profit.
More than 100 markets bet on.

Here’s how the general rates are structured:

Up to £25,000 in annual profit: No fees.
£25,000 – £100,000 in annual profit: 20%.
Over £100,000 in annual profit: 40%.

Fees only apply to a 52 active week period on a rolling basis.
