Getting Started With Your Bet Angel VPS

Thank you for purchasing a Bet Angel VPS. Details on how to log into your VPS will be sent to you soon.

This guide explains how to access your VPS, and a few important things you should know before you get started. You don’t need any prior VPS experience to follow this.

What to Expect

You will not receive your login credentials immediately on purchase. These will be sent once your server is set-up and ready to use.

Installation of the server may take a little while. So please bear with us while it is set-up.

If you have ordered the server overnight UK time, we may have to complete the installation manually if it has failed to set up automatically. So you may have to wait until we see that first thing in the morning UK time.

Connecting to your Virtual Private Server

To connect to your VPS you will need to use Remote Desktop software.

Windows PC
Microsoft Remote Desktop is already installed as standard.
Apple Mac
You will need to download Microsoft Remote Desktop from the Mac App Store.

Server Security & Backups

We strongly recommend that you back up any important files stored on your VPS.

Using a cloud service such as Dropbox is ideal, as it allows you to synchronise files between your VPS and your local computer automatically.

When your VPS is set up, we retain the initial password in case we need to access the server to complete setup or investigate a fault.

If you are concerned about security, we recommend that you change your VPS password once everything is working correctly. You can follow this guide:

Changing a password on a Windows server / VPS

Once the password is changed, we will no longer be able to access your server.

If access is lost, the only way to regain entry is to re-image the server, which will permanently remove all data stored on it.

For this reason, regular backups of data are essential.

Software on Your VPS

Bet Angel is already installed on your VPS.

Your VPS subscription does not include a Bet Angel licence, so you will need a valid licence to use the software.

If you have already registered Bet Angel previously, there is no need to register again. Simply enter your Betfair login details.

Audio Setup

Audio is enabled on your VPS.

Depending on the Remote Desktop application you are using, you may need to enable audio redirection so that sound from the VPS is played on your local machine.
