Starting Servants

To give maximum flexibility to the user servants can be started in several different ways as detailed below. Whenever a new servant is started you will hear a sound alert of a 'Desk bell' being rung, (if you wish to change this alert it can be done via the sound alerts area of your main settings.

1) Servant Shortcut

When you open the 'Servant Manager' by clicking on the    Bellboy icon the first tab you will see is the 'Shortcuts' tab, here you can assign up to three servants to the preset shortcut keys, CTRL+Left Click, SHIFT+Left Click & ALT+Left Click.

Once a servant has been assigned to one of those presets simply pressing that combination of keys will then start that servant providing your mouse cursor is hovering somewhere within the betting area of any of the selection.
If the servant has any rules using 'Context' then the position of your cursor at the time of starting a servant will determine which selection, stake and/or price it will use. See this page of the user guide for further details on using 'Context' as part of a servants rules.

2) The 'Start' button within the Servant Manager

After opening the 'Servant Manager' if you go onto on the 'control' tab you will be able to select any of your saved servants from the drop list. If the servant you have selected requires any context information instead of using your mouse cursor the applicable context options will become available in the 'Context for rules file' area below. Once a rule is selected and any context details entered then you then just need to click the 'Start' button whenever your ready.

3) Custom Columns on the one click screen

If your trading on the one click screen you may prefer to add a custom button to start a servant, for further details on adding and using custom columns see the 'Custom Column Editor' page of this user guide. In the image below I have created a servant that will look for gaps between the back & lay prices and fill them with orders, once a custom column has been created with a servant assigned it can then be started no differently than if you were placing a regular back or lay bet.
There is nothing to stop you adding several custom columns or as many as you can fit on your screen so this is a good way of having a number of servants just a click away.

4) Keyboard shortcut

Servants can also be started with the press of a single key by assigning a them to a Keyboard Shortcut, for further details on setting up keyboard shortcuts see the 'Keyboard Shortcut Editor' page of this user guide. A servant can be started with a keyboard shortcut regardless of your cursor position on the screen unless the servant contains a rule that uses any 'context'
If the servant has any rules using 'Context' then the position of your cursor at the time of starting a servant will determine which selection, stake and/or price it will use. See this page of the user guide for further details on using 'Context' as part of a servants rules.

Starting Additional Servants

Their is no limit to the number of servants you can start on either a market or selection (providing your PC can handle them). So you might want to start a scalping servant on 2-3 selections watching for ideal scalping opportunities, while having another servant monitor the whole market looking out for a steamer or drifter, with yet another servant monitoring your overall profit/loss ready to step in and trigger as soon as your preset amount is reached.

When on the 'Shortcuts' or 'Control' tabs of the 'Servant Manager' details of the most recently started automation servant will appear in the bottom window, all others servants that have been started will be visible on  the 'Activity' tab.

NB; If you are running multiple Automation Servants on a market we recommend taking extra care to ensure they don't conflict with each other.
